Life update
As you may notice, it has been quite a long time since I posted, more than 15 years to be exact. In the interim, much has changed in my life. I have moved several times, finally ending up close enough to where I started that I consider it a homecoming. All but two of my children have reached adulthood and are on their own in the world, and I have two grandchildren. My amazing wife and I are about to celebrate 28 years of marriage this week. Three years ago, I retired from a 20 year career in the Army as a crypto-linguist, and now work as a defense contractor. Lastly, at least as far as this blog is concerned, I am no longer the "younger" Mason that the title of this blog indicates, and have a considerable amount of additional experience in the Craft under my belt. I am a three time Past Master of my home Lodge, have served as head of each of the York Rite bodies, am active in the Scottish Rite, and belong to several invitational orders. I also have been serving as a District Inspector in my Grand Lodge for four years. My Masonic experience has evolved, and taken me down many different roads, some that were unexpected. My opinions now do not necessarily reflect the things that I may have written in the past. That being said, I don't think I will remove any of my prior posts. In fact, I may revisit some of the previous topics. The American Masonic landscape has changed quite a bit since some of them (for example, the GOUSA is ostensibly long since defunct), and it might be instructive.
I don't know if anybody reads this (or really any blogs) anymore, but I enjoy writing, so we'll see where (if anywhere!) this goes...
